Kelly Rutledge

Producer, Recording and Mix EngineerKelly Rutledge is an accomplished Recording Engineer, Producer, Songwriter, and former major label A&R Executive. She began her career at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles, where she became the only female staff engineer, working with icons like Elton John, Rick Rubin, and T Bone Burnett. She was later recruited by industry legend Ron Fair at Virgin Records (Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas), where she learned the art of pop vocal production and contributed to major campaigns at Capitol Music Group, like Bastille, Katy Perry and Don Henley. As A&R Executive and Staff Producer at Capitol Records, she signed and developed Maggie Rogers (Grammy awarded Best New Artist) and Cold War Kids.

After stepping away from Universal to focus on songwriting and production, she made a name for herself in Nashville writing country records before moving to London. Now based in Nevada City, CA, she is building an exciting music hub—Madcap Records—to nurture new talent, paying forward the mentorship and experience she gained throughout her career.

Jaya Betts

Jaya Betts is a Sierra Nevada lifetime local who was trained in the Suzuki method of cello and sang in choirs as a child. While he earned his degree in Sound Engineering at Chico State, he worked closely with award winning engineer, Oz Fritz, and Paul Kraushaar.

Currently, Jaya controls the soundboard at many festivals and the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley.

Through countless hours of hands on training, and dedication to his craft, he is an up-and-coming engineer not to be overlooked. He has a great ear and we're stoked to have him at Ancient Wave Studios.

Ellie McCutcheon is a cinematographer and drone pilot who weaves captivating cinematic narratives for documentary filmmakers and journalists. She has left her mark on projects for Netflix, The Washington Post, NPR, UC Berkeley, KQED, Blue Shield of California, and even for a former White House Calligrapher.

 
Her youtube channel, Sweet Harmony Sessions, features acoustic musicians playing in stunning Sierra Nevada locations and aims to celebrate and promote the vibrant music scene in our magical region.​
